Part one of project “The Degree of Non-Cognition” focuseson our complicated relationship with nature. We are partof it and are dependent on it yet on the other hand it givesour life a delusion of knowledge and control of it whereas immeasurable areas remain unfathomed in it. Are we goingto notice them disappearing if we are ignorant of them? Staged at the Centre for Natural Education of the JagiellonianUniversity, the exhibition is immersed in thecontext of the Centre’s permanent show that draws onthe collections of the University’s several museums: the Museums of Zoology, Geology, Paleobotany and Anthropology. The history of the collections dates back to1782, when the Jagiellonian University Cabinet of Natural History was founded.
