The artistic intervention in the allotments was done by placing involved placing seventy-two photoluminescent plaques beside various plants along the path leading from the entrance to the gardens toward the centre of the event—the allotment club room. The plaques featured verbs describing plant abilities, pointing to their intelligence, agency, and even… consciousness.
Working in the spirit of posthumanism, I questioned the traditional distinction between the realms of men and plants, drawing on scientific research which demonstrates that plants are not passive organisms but actively respond to their environment.
